The 2009 Dragonia Garnacha (Grenache). Each year there seems to be a wine that jumps out at the membership and seems to tickle the fancy of everyone. This is that wine of 2012.
And we sold out, rather quickly. On Friday last week, the importer advised me that he just brought in the last 343 cases of the wine from Spain….and that is the absolute end of it. And then he says, " You can sell it for $4.99/bottle!"
I'm like "Dude…." (as my kids would say) "Seriously…? I will take it all right now!"
Though the label is fun, the real success of this wine is its body and flavor profile. Wonderfully smooth on the mid-palate this wine gives way to gorgeous blueberry and hints of black cherry. Wonderful soft finish and lingering flavors of berry. (Screw cap finish, 13% alcohol)
This is one of the best deals I have made in a few months…get it while you can. No limit until it is gone.
