Dear Wine Lover,
Washington makes world class wines. Period.
Washington is on the same latitude as Bordeaux, France and touts that the Bordeaux varietals do well there (i.e. Cabernet, Merlot, etc.)
That explains why the Erratic Merlot is so good, and drastically underpriced at $5.99 but it doesn't explain the Whispering Tree Syrah.
I can tell you the latitude argument only goes so far...because some of the best Syrah's I have had are from Washington and here is one of the greatest examples...
And at $4.99, taste a real aged Syrah from the Columbia Valley and prepared to get blown away!
