MARCH 1972 SELECTION OF DOMESTIC WINE

SIMI CABERNET SAUVIGNON

This classic varietal wine with its fine bouquet and robust flavor, derives its name from the premier Claret grape of the world. The Cabernet Sauvignon grape is the true Cabernet, aris¬tocrat of all the red wine grapes, and is mainly responsible for the superb character and flavor of the wine.

In 1876, the Simi brothers found in Healdsburg, California, the site for their winery. The rich soil, climate and rolling hills reminded them of their native Italy. The Simi traditions of a family operation, and total dedication to producing premium wines are still the hallmark of the winery.

The winery is now owned by the Russell Green family, formerly of Palos Verdes.

Serve at room temperature, with Roast, Steak, Chops, Spaghetti or with Cheeses. $3.00/fifth,/p>

MARCH 1972 SELECTION OF IMPORTED WINE

CHABLIS GRAND CRU

French Chablis may only come from a region around a small town in central France, called Chablis, situated in the ancient province of Burgundy. It is produced exclusively from the Pinot Chardonnay grape. The best Chablis comes from seven, famous vineyards, who are the only ones allowed to label their wine "Chablis Grand Cru". The next best comes from over thirty vineyards, who may label their wine "Chablis Premier Cru". Lesser quality Chablis is labeled "Chablis".

French Chablis is a cool, clean, white burgundy with a fleeting and delicate bouquet. It is the driest of table wines. The distinguishing characteristic, which is not to be found in every vintage, is an austere, flinty quality, much prized by those who have had the good fortune to encounter it. An excellent wine for all white meat meals, where a dry wine is in order.

Palos Verdes Liquor & Spice Shop is proud to present an exceptional selection of French Chablis, this month. The seven vineyards which comprise Chablis Grand Cru, account for ninety acres of grapes in the whole world. We have assembled from our wine merchants, six of the seven labels for you. All are good years. Enjoy this great one, while it lasts.
