- Q & A
The joy of finding an exceptional wine from a boutique vineyard can be an eye opening experience for all types of wine drinkers. From the expert to the novice, the excitement that comes from uncovering a truly unique and undiscovered wine can be extraordinary.
Meeting at a small, mainly undiscovered, winery in Northern California, the two families that made up Forenzo, were drawn together by their mutual desire to find unique and exceptional wines to take back to their families. After several years of sharing the love for the wines of California, they decided to bring the DiCenzo and Ford families together to fulfill their dreams of producing fine wines in Northern California.
Purchasing a small organic estate vineyard along the Russian River in Redwood Valley, they started out on the path of understanding what they wanted their wines to stand for and what feelings others should have when they tried the wines. They wanted each experience to be the same as it was for the DiCenzo and Ford families when they met at that small undiscovered winery many years ago.
The Ford family is not without some past experience in the wine business. They have been growing grapes for over 30 years in Northern California. Tony Ford is a third generation grape grower in Northern California and will have overall responsibility for the grape growing. The DiCenzo Family with a deep Italian heritage and passion for wine will be overseeing the production and distribution of the Forenzo wines.
Forenzo Vineyards is committed to producing quality wines for years to come. To that end, they hired Penny Gadd-Coster in 2009 as the wine maker for all of the Forenzo Wines. Penny enjoyed a long career at Jordan Vineyards & Winery. Starting in 1986, Penny was there for the inception of J Vineyards and Winery. In 1999, she was hired as the Assistant Winemaker for J, eventually working her way up to Winemaker.
Pinot Grigio is a staple in Italy but just resenting finding a home in California's hospitable climate. Our Pinot Grigio has elegant Bartlett pear, Fuji apple and lemon-lime nuances in the aroma with similar flavors that are sublime with fish, chicken and pasta with white sauces.
