For the length of the East Coast of Australia are the mountains of the Great Dividing Range. It's a series of mountain ranges, plateaus and upland areas with a rich geological history of limestone, sandstone, quartzite and schist. Along with the perfect weather found here, this is a magical place to grow grapes. The diverse and rocky soils force the vines to run deep and, in doing so, continually pick up nutrients and spread them across the vine system. The soils also provide great drainage, preventing the vine from becoming over watered and thus producing watery grapes.

Lismore, a city on the Eastern Coast of Australia in New South Wales, benefits from being located just East of the Great Dividing Range. From the overflow of various rivers that run West to East, the unique landscape that covers the city of Lismore covers lush, green scenery, bright sunny days and a temperate climate. Produced just Couth of Lismore, in the wine making region of South Eastern Australia, Lismore Range Chardonnay embodies the diverse soil types of Australia as well as a fruit forward, fresh and approachable style.

Known as Australia's viticultural "super zone," South Eastern Australia hosts a variety of climates and soils, resulting in a large array of grape varieties of excellent quality. The 2013 vintage in South Eastern Australia was one of the earliest and shortest vintages in recent memory. A mix of hot weather and below average rainfall in the spring reduced grape yields. The heat wave that struck in mid-February jumpstarted harvest and assured no mold in the vineyards and a small crop that produced concentrated grapes.

Grapes used to produce this wine were harvested in early February and then fermented at cool temperatures in stainless steel vats to preserve delicate fruit flavors. Parts of the different sections were matured for five months in French oak. This selection is a pale straw color with hints of green. The nose shows a fresh display of lifted citrus, white peach and lime with a touch of oak. The palate possesses crisp lemon lime flavors complimented with white peach and delicate nutmeg nuances. The slight weightiness of the oak would match chicken fried steak and garlic mashed potatoes beautifully.
