Spanish vineyards have enjoyed a renaissance in recent years, as a new generation of winegrowers nurture grapes with lush, fruit-forward characteristics. Regions like Pened?s, Priorat and Tierra de Castilla are at the forefront of this delicious evolution offering quality wines for an exceptional value. Long known for earth-driven Riojas and classic Spanish Sherry, the new style of wine from Spain is especially exciting as the country's warm and sunny Mediterranean climate and mountainous landscape cries out for the cultivation of grapes. As a result, Spain has more land devoted to vineyards than any other country and ranks among the top three wine producers in the world.

Los Aljibes is a family project that was born with a deep respect for nature, life and environment. The winery is part of Los Aljibes estate, located in Chinchilla de Montearagon, province of Albacete, Spain, in the Vino de la Tierra de Castilla wine producing region. The winery is in North Central Spain and the building is surrounded by 400 acres of vineyards, grown almost 2,500 feet above sea level.

Los Aljibes is focused on creating exciting and modern wines expressing the soil, history and culture of this ancient land. They have assembled a team of highly qualified and experienced professionals who have a desire and commitment to bring the finest wines of the area to market.

The business can make you a little jaded. After a while, you get a little too sure of yourself and figure you've learn all you need to know. Then, just to kick you back into place, a wine like this comes along and you go "What? Petit Verdot in Spain?" But, there it is just as plain as day.

Our blend is 38% Petit Verdot, 38% Cabernet Sauvignon and 24% Tempranillo. The wine is aged for six months in seasoned French and American oak. It shows a deep purple color and sports an alluring bouquet of Asian spices, underbrush, mineral, lavender, black cherry and blackberry. Dense and plush on the palate, it reveals excellent volume, concentration and a fruit-filled finish. Perfect with grilled meats or game like venison or wild boar.
