Tunuyan is considered by most experts as one of the best regions in the world for growing Malbec grapes. The stony and sandy ground of Tunuy?n, Mendoza allows an excellent drainage of underground water coming from ice melting of the Andes Mountains.

At 4,000 feet above sea level, on the foothills of the Andes, in one of the best wine regions of Mendoza, Argentina, this wine is born with a perfect environment for slow grape ripeness and a huge temperature difference between day and night. The warm days and cold nights and almost no rainfall, insures slow maturation of the grapes and yields impeccable fruit for making great wine.

In 1962, Don Silvestre Hinojosa planted 400 acres in the Alto Valle de Uco. The wine making tradition and spirit of Don Silvestre are still alive with the third generation of Bodegas y Vi?edos Hinojosa, from which the name H comes from. The family shares the same goal of producing excellent wines inspired on the most pure and noble elements of nature.

On this land, where they combine the character of their vineyards with family tradition and artisan work, is where the vineyards stand. On this land, where the sun is closer and the moon and stars are brighter than anywhere else, here is where they reach the best expression of their wines.

Unlike many wineries in California, where they purchase a lot of their grapes, Hinojosa has been farming the same land for over 50 years. After many years, you have a sense as to what each vintage does to the grapes because chances are you've dealt with the same scenario before. This can't be overemphasized. More than in most businesses, experience here is crucial. During harvest, winemakers only have a few hours to make a decision that will impact the wine for its entire life.

H Malbec has a deep violet and red color. Filled with aromas of plums, blackberries and charming violets floral notes. It has a medium body and excellent balance in the mouth. This selection has great acidity and lingering flavors of dark fruits integrated with smoky and coffee notes from oak aging to give this Malbec a wide range of pairing alternatives. It especially goes well with lamb, poultry, beef and most cheeses.
