Sicily is a strong and legendary land. Its climate, nature and the experience of its viticulturists make it unique for the cultivation of the vine. It's not by chance that it is one of the most important wine regions in Italy. The Montalto Vineyards is a farm that manages about 1,000 acres of vineyards, many of which they own outright. The remainder of the vineyards are subject to their strict scrutiny they maintain in order to keep maximum control over the quality of the grapes and wine.

Tradition and innovation are Montalto's main objectives, making a wine that comes from the soul of Sicily but with a modern interpretation. This is made possible by the blending of the earth and traditional Sicilian methods with advanced technology headed by a young and hard-working team of quality driven professionals. The wines of Montalto, traditional and innovative in spirit and soul, is how this Sicilian success story began.

Barone Montalto began in 2000 in Santa Ninfa, Sicily, in the province of Trapani. Their primary objective has always been to take a strong and wealthy land, care for it in both the old and new ways, and finally to introduce its distinctive and authentic wines. Because of these concepts, it makes them recognizable and appreciated throughout the world.

Their intense and ambitious passion for this land has been the common denominator in the realization of the winery. This is how the Montalto wines came to be, from great tradition and young character, which are continuously admired by an ever wider and more attentive audience of consumers.

The vineyards have grown along with the Sicilian territory. In addition, the satisfaction of those who continue to choose their wines has increased and consequently increased their place in the wine industry. Barone Montalto is committed to both research and experimentation. Because of this, they have been able to pass new milestones, making more people familiar with the great tradition of authentic Sicilian wines. This Pinot Grigio is nothing less than a standout wine. The subtle nuances would have never been there 30 years ago, which shows how far they have gone. This would pair well with the local bass on a bed of fresh arugula dressed simply with olive oil, a dash of lemon and garlic.
