eco.love Wines is the brainchild of Andrea and Robin McBride, two sisters with a shared desire to make the world a better place and having fun while doing so. This desire was the spark that grew into the eco.love Wines, a selection of fantastic New Zealand varietals produced and crafted in conjunction with The New Zealand Wine Company, the first carboNZero certified winery in the world. The McBride sisters' thorough knowledge of New Zealand Wines and shared progressive ideals made the creation of eco.love Wines a logical and rewarding dream come true.
Grove Mill Wine Company Limited was established in 1988 when a group of Marlborough grape growers and business people recognized both the potential of Marlborough as a premier wine-growing region, and the opportunity to develop a truly distinctive Marlborough style.
The whole idea behind eco.love Wines was to create wines that not only tasted great, but thatalso set an environmental benchmark in global wine production. The sisters saw it as the start of something special-something that would grow and have positive effects as the company grew. This ethos is at the heart of every decision they make in their fight against global warming.
Chief Winemaker David Pearce is in charge of producing the eco.love range of wines. Dave's winemaking skills have won numerous national and international trophies for Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris and Merlot; twice for "Best Wine in New Zealand"; and twice for "Best of Variety in the World" at the International Wine Challenge, the world's most prestigious and influential independent wine competition.
Vineyard Manager Craig Young explains the process of going from traditional grape farming to organic farming. eco.love Wines are made from grapes that strictly adhere to sustainable grape-growing methods and practices. All this combines to make a fresh and enticing Sauvignon Blanc with typical white peach, grapefruit and gooseberry components that would be a perfect foil for a shrimp and scallop mousse.
