Best Wines for Summer
The flavor we're trying to capture to highlight the summer is sweet, light-bodied and low tannin. Light-bodied is important, as it won't be as hard on the stomach in hot weather. We want low tannin count because of tannins' tendency to dry out the mouth. And we're looking for sweet because those wines tend to be fruitier--and when has a little sweetness ever hurt anybody?! Some of our summertime favorites are Rose, Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Grigio and, of course, sangria (which can be made from any juicy red wine). You'll discover all this and more as a member of the Original and Only Wine of the Month Club. |
