Joachim Splichal, chef and founder of the Patina Restaurant Group and winner of the James Beard Award (the food industry's highest honor) is now making wine.
Growing up in his parents' inn in Germany, Joachim has been in the hospitality business since birth. After working at several international hotels, he moved to France to begin his culinary training. With great talent and hard work, he has gone from triumph to triumph.
Five years ago, Joachim became interested in making Rosé. He found a property in the Provence and his story as a winemaker began. Today, we taste his offerings from Domaine de Cala.
And so it goes with this months Classic Series of wines.
What can I say? When you are good at what you do...you just are. Not to toot my own horn, but I think I will. The Vintners Series wines for this month, each in their own right...fantastic.
