June 2019 Classic, Limited and Vintners Series Wine Tasting

Dear Wine Lover,

Joachim Splichal, chef and founder of the Patina Restaurant Group and winner of the James Beard Award (the food industry's highest honor) is now making wine.

Growing up in his parents' inn in Germany, Joachim has been in the hospitality business since birth. After working at several international hotels, he moved to France to begin his culinary training. With great talent and hard work, he has gone from triumph to triumph.

Five years ago, Joachim became interested in making Rosé. He found a property in the Provence and his story as a winemaker began. Today, we taste his offerings from Domaine de Cala.

Salud,
PK

This Month, we welcome Joachim Splichal to our studio.

Classic Series Wines For June 2019
An unusual and delicious Petit Verdot from Impress does impress us quite a bit. Spicy Goat's Riesling is a pedigreed, sophisticated wine. Andeluna offers a complex and structured Cabernet from Mendoza, Argentina, and Simple Life's Chardonnay is a pure expression of the grape.

Vintners Series Wines For June 2019
This month, we feature an array of remarkable wines in our Vintners Series. Travelling across France, stopping in Slovakia, and moving on to California, we taste a wealth of rich and subtle flavors from varietals grown in spectacular terroirs. Outstanding!.

Limited Series Wines For June 2019
We start with a blockbuster Australian Cabernet Sauvignon from Penny's Hill. Cru's Pinot Noir from Santa Lucia Highlands is a fantastic and classic expression. We found a great Côtes du Rhône Blanc from Ferraton Père & Fils, and a bright and refreshing Picpoul de Pinet rounds out our tasting.
