Dear Wine Lover,
I am beside myself. Two wines came in this week. I was reluctant. I was suspicious. I was unwilling. I was floored.
The Atlas Peak Appellation of the famed Napa Valley is some of the most picturesque and rugged. There are records of vineyard plantings dating back to the late 1800's and steady ever since.
The reds from the Atlas Peak appellation are brash and bold, and represent great varietal character. I have always respected wines from Atlas Peak. Then comes along this gem from LOBO Vineyards.
Off the charts Cabernet Sauvignon that is so expressive of the region that I could hardly contain myself when I asked, "what can I sell it for?" "$45.00 bottle" he replied, then he continued, "We sell it for $75 at the winery!"
And when I looked it up...he was correct. Folks, this is serious Napa Valley Atlas Peak District Cabernet. No doubt about it...you will impress your friends.
And, I couldn't resist this either. One of the great wine regions in the South of France is Chateauneuf du Pape. And about the 2009 vintage, Wine Spectator says "Mother Nature smiled...This vintage is tailor-made for Chateauneuf du Pape."
I implore you to taste this spectacular vintage from Chateau Galevan...there is always a catch...Total Wine has the same wine, same vintage for $64....we have it for $39..that is correct....buy from Total Wine for $64 or from me for $39.
Well, there you have it...another amazing offering from...well, let's just say....ME!
