Tawnya Falkner of Le Grand Courtâge joins us in studio
Tawnya Falkner took the leap into the wine world several years ago, giving up her career as a designer and real estate developer in the U.S. and moving to Burgundy to start her company, Le Grand Courtâge. The name means "The Great Courtship" and refers to a number of things: her own story as an American moving to France and learning their culture, the blending of different grapes to make a harmonious whole, and the coming together of Old and New World winemaking methods. In studio, we taste two of her sparkling wines from Burgundy, which have the perfect balance of fruity sweetness and dryness. We also taste Tawnya's latest offering, Très Chic Rosé, a lip-smacking blend of Grenache and Cinsault from the South of France, which we feature in our Rosé Series specialty club. |
