In Montalcino, wine has been produced for many centuries. Brunello di Montalcino as we know it today was born by Clemente Santi after the mid-1800s.
The wine is made of 100% Sangiovese Grosso. Grapes for our selection were sourced from Val di Suga vineyards in Montalcino's.Brunello di Montalcino DOCG can be produced exclusively from Sangiovese grapes and must be bottled on "Bordolese" type bottles, with dark glass and closed by a cork stopper. It is a wine that supports time very well and if properly stored (fresh wine cellar, poor light, constant temperature, no odors) it can last even 20 or more years.
This vintage shows a bright, ruby red. Lively, fresh fruit notes of cherry and red currants mixed with sweet spices. Full-bodied and soft with ripe fruit flavors and a long finish. A versatile wine that pairs well with light fare, white meats and heavy pastas.Reviews
