Steve Hearst met Jim Saunders at a Hearst Cancer Resource Center fundraiser where Jim purchased a tour of Hearst Ranch. From that meeting, a personal relationship and professional collaboration grew into Hearst Ranch Winery. Steve and Jim brought together the skills they developed from independent successes to create an award-winning winery that perpetuates the Hearst family's "Legacy of Quality." And no wonder the endeavor is so fruitful. Each day starts with a vineyard walk-though, vines are meticulously monitored, grapes are handpicked, and regular barrel tastings ensure the excellence of the wines. Jim even lives at the vineyard.

What a place to live! Sunny skies, coastal breezes, brisk evenings. The conditions are perfect for Malbec to express rustic, bold, fruity flavors with layers of spice and acidity.
