Chateau Brondelle has been in the Belloc family for over 100 years. It is located in one of the premium areas of Bordeaux, Graves, where many of the greatest Bordeaux wines are crafted.
Jean-Noel Belloc is the current generation running the ch?teau, and he has taken it to new heights. First, Jean-No?l appointed Aquataine Wine Company as his exporter. Aquataine has over 200 years of experience in brokering fine wine and tremendous expertise in production and grape growing as well.
Graves is so named because of the huge bed of gravel beneath the soil. The gravel provides proper drainage as well as minerals and nutrients, which give the grapes flavor and density. It is unquestionably as unique as it gets.
Our selection is a blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. This is a classic combination. Of course, when you've been doing the same thing for 700 years, chances are you've got it pretty well figured out.
That is certainly the case here. The average age of the vines is 20 years. At this point, they have reached their peak of production and will do so for another 20-30 years.
After fermentation, the wine ages in one- to three-year-old barrels for 12 months, to round out the flavors and add spice and vanilla characteristics. The result is a glorious offering that literally screams where it came from. This is Bordeaux. This is world-class wine.
