Bordeaux is unquestionably the most famous wine region in the world. It's also one of the largest producing nearly 250 million cases a year. Only 10% of which is Graves and Entre Deux Mers which translates to "between two seas." It straddles the two major rivers in Bordeaux, the Garrone and the Dordogne.
Alexandre Sirech's previous life was head of a Cuban rum brand named Havana Club. He was one of the best in the business. However, blending the same thing every year can be boring because you are making the same product year in and year out. Sirech knew blending wine was much more exciting. Thus, he packed up his rum blending skills and headed between the two rivers. He certainly has shown off his mastery in our selection. Whereas most white Bordeaux is made from a combination of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon, Sirech is taking an entirely different approach.
Ours is a blend of 55% Sauvignon Blanc, 20% Colombard, 13% Gros Mensang, and 12% Ugni Blanc. The complexity of flavors from this unique mix is dizzying. Of course, the Sauvignon Blanc adds the backbone and acidity. But then you gradually get the peach nectar of the Colombard, the tropical fruit from the Gros Mensang and the spice of the Ugni Blanc. The result is a whirlwind of flavors featuring all of them at once. To call this a feast for the senses would be an understatement. From fish to fowl to vegetarian, this beauty can't miss.
