Biac was founded by the family in the 17th Century and was originally 37 acres of land, more than twice the size it is today. The original use of the land is thought to be for cattle grazing and a barn for grain storage. The original Chateau is now a guesthouse on the property, and the original agricultural buildings are now offices and used for entertainment.

After changing hands multiple times, the estate was sold to the current owners in 2006, a Lebanese family who "accidently" became winemakers and viticulturists. Tony, Youmna, Yasmina, Gabriel and Antonia had spent many summers in the vicinity and discovered Chateau Biac when they rented its guesthouse. They have since made a commitment to perpetuate the Biac legacy of excellent wine and want to continue ensuring that the Chateau remains one of France's finest properties in the region. Chateau Biac sits on the banks of the Garonne River not far from Margaux. As is with real estate, location is everything and as far as Bordeaux is concerned, Margaux is as good as it gets. So, the Asseily's set their sights on showing the world that great wine could be made from great beauty.

The terraced vines assure proper drainage, which encourage the vine's root system to grow deeper into the soil looking for water. This allows them to bring needed nutrients to the grape clusters. Those nutrients are reflected in the powerful flavors of our selection. From the deep cassis nose and the earth, leather and coffee flavor on the palate to the stunning finish, it pleases at every turn.
