Chateau Laborde's history goes back to the 17th Century, but the husband and wife team of Serge and Nathalie Audubert have owned it since 1996. They've done a lot to bring the place up to modern standards. Since 2012, the chateau has been a member of the Environmental Management System, which promotes sustainability while respecting the environment.
The chateau covers an area of 35 acres of grapes. The cellars were built with stones from the quarries of Saint-Emilion, where each stone was carved from the living rock, by hand. That's how things were done 300 years ago.
Laborde is located in what is referred to as the Right Bank of Bordeaux, where the famous regions of Pomerol and Saint-Emilion are located. Merlot and Cabernet Franc reign supreme here and for good reason. They simply make the best wine on these soils with the climate presented to them.
Laborde produces wine from several different appellations in Bordeaux. Our selection comes from the Left Bank of Bordeaux in the Haut-Medoc region. This appellation houses the most famous chateaux in Bordeaux, including most of the first growths.
This classic wine comes from an outstanding vintage and literally has it all. Black fruit dominates, with doses of earth, leather and a stunning finish. It's why we drink Bordeaux in the first place.
