Alexandre Sirech makes wine in Bordeaux, Gascony and the Languedoc, a combination we haven't seen before. Each property makes superb wines, but the jewel of the company is in Bordeaux.

The main reason for this is his winemaker, Joseph Jamoueix, whose family have been crafting legendary wines from here for over 100 years. They were fortunate enough to land on the Right Bank of Bordeaux near the legendary appellations of Saint Emilion and Pomerol. Merlot is king here and for good reason. No place on Earth can match the Merlot grape from these two areas. They have proven so for several centuries. We can't say enough about the 2019 vintage. It was nothing less than spectacular and is aging beautifully. What we love most about this vintage is the price. They are typically half that of the 2015s. If we were to do a comparison, 2015 would get 100 and 2019 would get 95. That's only a 5% difference, but the difference in price is staggering.

We bring this up because price is always an issue and when discussing wine, you can't assume that if you pay more, you'll get more. Many times the opposite is true and never truer than in Bordeaux.

All this works to our advantage as we can offer amazing wines like this selection for much less than lesser wines. Our selection screams Bordeaux. From the ripe cherry and blackberry elements to the hints of earth, licorice, and vanillas it thrills at every turn. Pairing with a classic prime rib would be sublime.
