Resso means "echo" in Catalonian Spanish. It refers to a wine which echoes the grape and soil from which it hails. The winery has been in the Masachs family since it was founded over 100 years ago. The grapes are grown in Terre Alta, a section of the Penedes region, just south of Barcelona. It is considered one of the finest grape growing regions in Spain.

For 30 years they made the classic wines Spain became known for such as Garnacha and Tempranillo. The rise of interest in Champagne saw them switch gears and begin to craft wines made in the Champagne method called Cava. They became one of the finest producers of sparkling wine in Spain almost overnight.

Several years later the market spoke to them again. Wines made from Grenache Blanc were becoming as popular as Chardonnay. Its explosive flavors of white peach, nectarine, citrus, and herbs was charming all who experienced it. The Masachs family decided to take it on. They knew they had the perfect area for it. The vineyard averaged just 14 inches of rain per year. This is considered the bare minimum needed for Grenache Blanc. That little amount of rain meant that the berries would be smaller and the flavors larger. Resso gives us all the thrills and chills of this exceptional grape. The wine descends on the palate with authority and sizzle offering its signatures of stone fruit, lime zest, and fresh herbs. All that is needed would be to anoint linguine with a spicy shrimp sauce or mussels poached in white wine and garlic.
