Mezclada comes to us from the Chilean powerhouse producer, Cuatro Almas, "four souls." The word means "mixed" or "blended" in Spanish. Even though our selection is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, it is still a blend of several lots from different parts of their vineyard. The word "blend" doesn't just mean different grapes. It can mean the same grape from different soil, which can impact the wine as much, or more, that a different grape.

Chile is considered to have a Mediterranean climate which, on the surface, makes no sense at all. First off, it is roughly 3,000 feet above sea level and almost 50 miles from the ocean. But the fact exists that its warm days and cool nights, ample sunlight and refreshing, unending water supply from the runoff of the Andes Mountains replicate the Mediterranean climate, which is perfect for winemaking. This consistent climate has a glorious impact on wines, as a bad vintage from Chile is rare.

As the world took note of the quality of wines, big names from France, Spain, and California set down roots. Cabernet Sauvignon, originally from Bordeaux, is the most planted grape in the world. This selection from Chile is proof that top-quality Cabernet Sauvignons also exist outside of the most known regions. It displays grand and glorious black cherry, saddle leather, and earth tones in the glass and is ready to strike a grilled ribeye.
