Our Saint Marcellin selection was created at the former Arciero Winery in Paso Robles, now owned by billionaire mastermind, Bill Foley. Bill was a corporate attorney with incredible business savvy. He took over a small title insurance company in 1984 and turned it into a Fortune 500 company.
But, Foley is also a wine aficionado and purchased a small winery in Santa Barbara in 1986. His business acumen is what drove the company to success and what is sorely lacking in the wine industry today. As a result, in less than 25 years, Foley's company is the 20th largest wine operation in California, producing over one million cases a year. He did it by merely putting the best wine in the bottle and charging less.
By the time he purchased the Arciero vineyards, they were already in full production and at the height of their potential. That's how Foley works. He buys the best at the best time and makes the most of it.
Our selection is named after a town in France of the same name, known for its famous soft cheese, also called Saint Marcellin. We think it's a perfect tribute to both, as we can't offer a better match than cheese and wine.
To that point, we offer this fantastic wine with all the glamor and glory only great Cabernet can bring. Ripe cherry, plum, leather, and spice literally scream from the glass and beg for a juicy rib eye or, what else, a cheese plate.
