Zoom is another fantastic selection created by Terravant, a winery that nobody ever heard of, yet they are one of the largest wine producers in the state. They don't produce wine under the Terravant label. They work with winemakers in their $30 million facility in Buellton, or occasionally craft a specific brand when they find something unusually good. That's how Zoom came to us.
They have vineyards and vineyard contacts all over the state and other countries, making them a force to be reckoned with anywhere in the world. In spite of their size, quality is their first concern. It has to be or they wouldn't be as successful as they are.
In 2019 they purchased Summerland Winery in Santa Barbara County for their upscale brands, of which our selection is included. It seems their operation was so successful that they no longer had the room in their own facility in Buellton to make their own wines. Summerland allows them to totally concentrate on brands like Zoom, and it certainly shows in the bottle.
Sauvignon Blanc was never considered a natural for Santa Barbara until a man named Paul Albrecht planted it on his 11 Oaks Ranch. The wines made from this vineyard were astounding and paved the way for other vineyards to consider planting the grape. Today, it is a staple here. Zoom is a classic example of the grapes bright fruit and zingy acidity. Asian pear, white peach, and fresh herbs abound in the glass and beg for our Sole Meuniere recipe selection.
