Winemaker Anna Clifford is a Southern California girl who was inspired to make a career in wine after seeing the beautiful, sprawling vineyard landscape in the romantic comedy, "French Kiss." She went on to earn her Enology Degree from UC Davis and then visited the wine regions of France, Italy, Germany, and others, before coming back to the states.
Upon her return, Anna spent 10 years in Napa and Sonoma in many of the most respected wineries in the area, but her first love was Santa Barbara as it was the first wine area her parents took her to. She eventually left Santa Barbara, but Santa Barbara never left her. Now, making wine here is her dream come true.
The name comes from the fact that only 12 barrels were made and Wine of the Month took a healthy chunk of that. One taste was all it took. This serious blend of Cabernet, Syrah, and Merlot is an engaging are remarkable selection, offering cranberry and berry flavors with a dash of earth, black pepper, and cinnamon. The only thing missing is a pork tenderloin with mustard and tarragon sauce or roast duck with green peppercorns in a Bourbon sauce.
