Steven Decosta, the winemaker at Silver Lining, leads a team of talented young winemakers who focus on creating wines with character that come from premier appellations and fruit. Working to ensure the highest level of winemaking standards are met, he oversees research and development and works to introduce new technology for use across the winery. Even with an excellent team of winemakers on hand to bring this Chardonnay to fruition, sometimes all you need is to "throw out the playbook and take what Mother Nature gives you". Such is the case with this wine, a wine born under the gray skies of coastal vineyards, where the cool weather happily results in an uncanny depth of flavor and character.
Silver Lining Chardonnay boasts aromatics of golden apple, ripe pear, toasted oak, and hints of banana cream pie. With wonderful freshness, bright acidity, smooth mid-palate, and a lingering finish, this a great food wine. To complement this wine with a meal, serve with mild, buttery, or creamy dishes. Think lobster or scallop bisque, or some fish and chips. This wine will pair well with simply seasoned poultry or pork dishes, think grilled chicken or caramel iced pork chops. Seasonally this wine will pair well with fresh grilled corn in the summer or butternut squash in the fall.
