Bordeaux refers to itself as the largest fine wine appellation in the world, which is hard to argue with. They produce 250 million cases of wine and boast 12,000 producers, more than that of the United States. What most people don't realize is that there are roughly 8,000 ch?teaux there. The other producers are either growers or co-ops like Duc de Rauzan.

Rauzan is located in the Entre-Deux-Mers region of Bordeaux, just 10 miles south of St. Emilion. It shares many of the same characteristics of its famous neighbor with similar gravelly soil and climate, where the vineyards are made of three principal grapes: 66% Merlot, 22% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 12% Cabernet Franc.

At one time this 8,200-acre property was under three separate ownerships. They decided to band together in order to take advantage of the area's diversity. Having more resources to work with gave them more options in difficult vintages and Bordeaux knows all about difficult vintages.

The entire property is certified sustainable. Audits are conducted every 18 months to guarantee that they are following the rules, and the quality of the product is of a certain level that preserves the heritage of Bordeaux.

Our selection sees no oak treatment, and as a result, boasts a purity of fruit and lilting presence on the palate. Wild berries and hints of spice and chocolate take center stage and begs for a myriad of dishes, from fried chicken to stilton cheese.
