Our story is as much about the importer of this wine, Misa, as it is about the wine itself. Since 1998 when Misa was founded by Sam Assaad, the company began representing many of great producers. He began his career with Bercut Vandervoort and sold wine to Paul Sr. in the early days of the Wine of the Month Club as well as for the shelves at Palos Verdes Wine and Spirits. Misa's sole mission is to find a balance between themselves and those they represent, while treating each other fairly. This doesn't seem too difficult, but in an insanely competitive climate like the wine business, Sam is a very special person and it shows in the unbelievable portfolio he now represents.

One of them is Fattoria Campoperi, an elite coop in the Chianti Classico territories of Siena and Florence. The black rooster trademark on every bottle of Chianti Classico is a historical symbol adopted by the Chianti Classic Wine Consortium in 2005, and the League of Chianti before that, in 1384. The wine making process involves a combination of timeless traditional methods and modern techniques of vinification. The grape skins are the fundamental element responsible for the wine's color and texture; these methods produce the wine's deep red hue and powerful fruity aromas. Bursting with intensity, the grapes are aged 18 months in French Oak barriques, and then refined further in the bottle.

Our Chianti is a personification of the genre. Made from 100% Sangiovese, it returns to the classic recipe for great Chianti. Here, the wine captures the essence of the soil with light earth tones, engaging plum and anise and a finish worthy a Tuscan feast of grilledvenison, wild boar or pork ribs lathered with garlic and fennel.
