Mas de Lunes is controlled by Brigette Jeanjean, the 5th generation to run the estate since it was founded in 1879 by Maurice-Fran?ois Jeanjean. The holdings were built upon by fathers and sons for over a century until today. They own nine different properties in the Languedoc and each one is a jewel.

Grapes were first planted here by the Greeks before the Roman Empire even existed. Because of its position on the Mediterranean coast it was probably the first place the Greeks landed when they were expanding their reach. Naturally, the locals weren't particularly responsive to the new invaders, but that didn't stop the Greeks from establishing vineyards there, as they did in Italy and Spain.

Besides being the Ambassador to the estate, Brigitte is also involved in the well-being of the village near which the estate rests, Saint-F?lix-de-Lodez. The town is only 1.7 square miles and has a population of just over 1,000.

Our selection is a classic Languedoc blend of 60% Syrah and 40% Grenache with no oak treatment so that the bright cherry and blueberry fruit of the Syrah and the spice of the Grenache can come to the forefront. It also didn't hurt that the 2015 vintage was one of the finest in recent memory from this region and just added to the complexity of the wine.

Here is bold, spicy and exciting flavors redolent with black and red fruits and finishing with a flourish. Game like boar or goat grilled over an open flame would be just the ticket for this wine.
