Once again, we feature a tremendous Napa Cabernet Sauvignon from the husband and wife team of Kat and Rob McDonald. They met and married in Australia, where Rob lived and Kat worked. She was planning to come back to California, but Rob changed all that, along with her job. Suddenly she was in the wine business.
She worked with Rob in his wine-exporting business until deciding to take their show on the road and make wine in California. Their favorite wine was Cabernet Sauvignon from the Napa Valley. But, they didn't close shop, they just moved it to California.
Once here, while putting a winery and vineyard together, they turned their exporting business into an importing one. They had contacts with some of the best properties in Australia, so it was natural to bring Australian wines into the U.S.
Binging great Australian wines to clients in the U.S. was a perfect addition to offering great California wines. Once their Napa operation was running, they just put it into the mix with an already built distribution network. Pretty smart.
From the ripe cherry, cassis and blackberry, followed by spice, earth and vanilla, our selection oozes Napa Valley. The experience could only be enhanced by pairing with a rack of venison, featuring dried cranberries and caramelized onions, or beef tenderloin with a Cognac and mushroom sauce.
