Rutherford Vintner's was established by the Bronco Wine Company in 1994. Up until then they produced millions of cases of wine from their huge location in the Central Valley of California. It caused quite a stir in Napa at the time because many wineries were concerned that owner, Fred Franzia, would bring in wines from other areas and sully the name. Franzia was the nephew of Earnest Gallo, who had just purchased land in Sonoma. Gallo and Franzia were known for jug wines not fine wines from Napa.
As it turned out their concerns were unfounded. Rutherford Vintners has produced only wines from Napa and at a price much lower than the competition. Bronco began growing, producing and selling the finest quality wines of the highest value. Their diverse family of brands are sold in over 65 countries worldwide in addition to being distributed throughout the United States. They have become a major varietal wine source to the California wine industry and are currently recognized as the fourth largest winery in the country. Their quest for quality begins with vineyard development and continues to grow into areas such as premium bulk wine contracts, research and development, brand development, marketing and distribution.
Our selection shows their commitment to quality. The delicate floral nose is followed by hints of peach nectar, green apple and tropical fruit. The kiss of oak brings all the flavors together in a lovely swirl of flavors to match a hearty seafood gumbo or a shrimp pasta.
