It is said that every cloud has a silver lining. If that is true, then this selection is that silver lining. With all that is going on it may be difficult to find a silver lining, but if it weren't for what's been going on, we wouldn't be able to feature this incredible selection.
Conjecture Reserve Cuvee blend was crafted in small lots for restaurants only. While we are saddened by the restrictions on restaurants and the loss of business by so many of our friends and peers, we certainly can't say no to a wine like this. But situations like these come along that dictate the wine needs to be sold, and the best motivator for the sale is a reduction in price. Wineries don't like to see their wines discounted because they like the prestige of selling an expensive wine because it's worth it. You can just imagine what they think about us, but Wine of the Month Club and you, our members, have been beneficiaries of these circumstances for nearly 50 years.
How fortunate for all of us, as we don't normally come across a wine like this Conjecture. The grapes from this Mt. Veeder vineyard were about as perfect as possible. The combination of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Merlot and 6% Cabernet Franc expose a powerful expression of the soil, with black cherry and licorice notes lingering amongst the soil and spice. From a charred steak to a cheese platter, it is pure perfection.
