This wine comes from California's Napa Valley. In 2018, a warm, dry winter and a wet spring led to a later-than-normal start of the growing season. Luckily, an ideal summer in Napa secured that this vintage would exhibit ideal grapes, yielding a beautifully colored Cabernet Sauvignon with silky tannins and vibrant fruit flavors.
It is a soft, fruit-forward wine, perfect to drink now or rest in the cellar for a few years. With pliant and supple tannins this wine already displays a remarkable elegance. It is a deep crimson red in the glass. On the palate, hints of violet, lavender and dark chocolate add to the delicious depth of this wine, with a pleasing touch of acidity bringing brightness and poise to a lush fruit-driven finish. Succulent red cherry, red plum, spice, lavender, cedar, and tobacco all flesh out in this effortless, fruit-forward Cabernet that will pair well with a classic burger or a perfectly cooked and well-seasoned steak. You also can't go wrong with short ribs or any other braised beef dish. For vegetarian fare, pair with roasted sweet baby broccoli with wild rice or portobello mushrooms. Camembert cheese will complement this wine nicely, as will blackberry or hazelnut desserts.
