It's difficult to stay focused when writing about Two Old Dogs because the principals are two very respected former baseball players, Chris Iannetta and Vernon Wells. There have been former baseball players who were into wine, but we don't think we've ever heard of any of them actually owning a winery.

They both shared a passion for great wine, so they decided to craft their own. After all, they had the finances and they had name recognition, especially among baseball aficionados. The only issue was that neither of one of them had ever made wine before, so they had to find someone who did. They couldn't hire just any winemaker, so they started at the top with French-born Julien Fayard. It was an easy choice. Julien has more than 20 years of experience making wines for the likes of Lafite Rothschild. He is as good as it gets when it comes to winemaking.

So, armed with the resources and the winemaker, they founded their winery in 2005. Name recognition helps, but now it's not a pitcher they're staring down, it's a customer, so it all has to work. And it definitely works here. Our selection boasts 12% of the Musque clone, bringing enveloping fruit and spice to the spine-tingling traditional Sauvignon Blanc to expand the white peach and melon flavors, creating the perfect host for raw oysters or seared ahi.
