Hyperbole runs rampant in the wine business. There are way more "Best of" accolades than there should be. More superstars than stars. But, once in a while.

Sean Minor is a legitimate superstar winemaker. He started out making quite the name for himself with Pinot Noir almost 20 years ago. Sean worked at King Estate in Oregon and at Beaulieu in Napa, home of California's greatest winemaker, Andre Tchelistcheff.

After a few years of hitting the mark every time, Sean decided it was time to branch out. So, he made Cabernet, Zinfandel and Chardonnay and - much to the surprise of absolutely no one - they were fantastic. So, the stardom continues as we present this stunning selection.

It's hard to argue any other place in California being better for Cabernet Sauvignon than the Napa Valley. It has its own personality, its own identity and its own hierarchy.

For our selection, Sean chose Cabernet from different areas of Napa - from cooler climates for structure and tannins, and from warmer climates for fruit essences and grace. Each lot was fermented separately and, months later, blended to make a whole greater than the sum of its parts.

Small splashes of Merlot and Cabernet Franc add soft edges to tame the Cabernet Sauvignon's size and weight. Each lot of grapes contributes to the whole experience, from black pepper and cocoa to ripe plum, cassis and anise. All for the greater good.
