Dutton Estate can be described as California wine royalty. As the sixth generation of farmers in the same spot, they feel connected to the land and are proud to work with other grape growers. Their location and history of making exceptional Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in Sonoma's Russian River Valley means that their Sauvignon Blanc is often overlooked. Overlooked wines by producers such as Dutton Estates are often liquid gold.
Dutton Estate chose Shop Block and Mrs. George Vineyards' grapes due to their magnificent Musque fruit, and the fact that both are certified Sonoma County Sustainability-Farmed and Fish-Friendly. Kylie's Cuvee is named after their middle daughter and is from their Sisters Selection of wine. Even at a young age, Kylie loved to entertain and astonish her parents by swirling wine around in a glass and call out the flavors and aromas that she noticed. That same sparking, adventurous personality is reflected in the spice, floral notes, and fruit found in this wine.
The long, slow maturation of the grapes allows more nutrients to be spread amongst those precious clusters. The cooler sun allows the maturing of the grape's natural sugars, but not at the expense of the critical acids. This builds to a classic balance of fruit, flavor, extract, and pure pleasure. Here is a Sauvignon Blanc lover's Sauvignon Blanc. The intense varietal components are nurtured by the crisp acidity, minerality and fresh herbs. Nothing less than a crab cocktail, Chilean sea bass with roasted tomatoes or scampi will do.
