Conjecture is yet another incredible selection from Art+Farm's husband and wife team, Kat and Rob McDonald. They met and married in Australia where Kat was visiting and Rob was born. They shared a love of wine, agriculture, food and art. Sounds like a good start to us!

Kat was working in the brewing industry, but it didn't take long for her to switch over to wine, Rob's passion. Together they founded an export company in Australia to find and export many of the small, craftsman wines there. When an opportunity came up to buy a vineyard in Napa, they had a tough choice to make-give up their Australian company or pass up an exceptional opportunity. They decided to do neither-they continued to export Australian wines and also purchased the vineyard!

There are many things that are amazing about these two, from the two-hemisphere business to raising kids, chickens, heirloom tomatoes and other organic produce. The wines they produce run the gamut in pricing from low to high, but the incredibly high quality of all their products is what separates them from everybody else.

Our selection is a perfect example. Here is mastery in Napa Cabernet Sauvignon which few can match. They ferment the grapes at very cold temperatures so that maximum extraction and flavor is attained. Those flavors are magnified in the finished wine, featuring ripe cherry, cassis and blackberry, followed by spice and vanilla. This rich experience could be further enhanced by pairing with lamb sausages or beef tenderloin with a Cognac and mushroom sauce.
