Chardonnay, 2018. Limited Lot

Occasionally winemakers discover small quantities of wine that are available on a one-time basis; in the wine world, this is known as a limited lot. The Limited Lot project is the latest in Natalie Scotto Wood's wine career. She is the daughter of multiple generations of vintners, vineyard owners and winery workers. She has launched one of California's few female owned wine distribution companies and has created brands with broadly appealing packages and flavor profiles.

Limited Lot wines are exceptional "finds," highlighting Natalie's search for truly special wines. Her search began five years ago in the North Coast where she scoured cellars for classic varietals that her winemaker brother Paul could vinify in small quantities for discerning wine lovers. Natalie sources the grapes from special lots and the winemakers blend each release to perfection, providing you with a superb glass of wine.

This is a classic medium bodied style of Chardonnay. The tropical fruit flavors and aromas combine with subtle notes of oak and vanilla bean on the palate to create a complex wine with all the roundness typical of many Chardonnays ending with gratifying finish. Pair this wine with a fully loaded cheese plate, with soft creamy cheeses, dried fruits, and nuts. This wine will also pair nicely with mushrooms, try it with a mushroom risotto or roasted mushrooms as a side dish to accompany chicken or pork.
