At Kobler Estate Winery, we believe that the Russian River Valley is the veritable Garden of Eden for Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, and cool-climate Syrah. The Moore Vineyards Pinot Noir is a blend of 667 and 777 giving it a flirtatious, rich texture of crushed velvet.
The 2017 growing season started off two weeks early, just like the year before however, the 2016/2017 rainy season provided above average rainfall, increasing water sources for the vines. The fruit set was nearly perfect but excessive summer heat led to rapid maturation and thus harvest was pushed another week earlier. Harvest season was extremely warm with temperatures well above 100? causing a rush of picking.
Night harvesting, hand picking, and hand sorting in the cellar are vital human touches that create truly exceptional, memorable wines. The Moore Vineyards Pinot Noir was aged for 17 months prior to bottling. Aromatics of cranberry, cherry, and raspberry combined with earth notes of pind duft and baking spices to creating an unforgettable impression.
