The Waters Ranch Vineyard is located in the heart of the Russian River Valley, right off a Westside road. The Russian River is defined by its fog-filled cool mornings and warm sunny afternoons. Waters Ranch is a mixture of alluvial and loam soils and is farmed sustainably.
The fruit is harvested at night and brought to the winery in the early morning. It is then 100% de-stemmed with a two day cold soak. Fermentation is started with two punch downs a day for the duration. After 14 days on the skins, it is pressed just until dryness. All native fermentation for both primary and secondary. We strive to be as gentle as possible with our Pinot, which allows the full potential of the vineyard site to shine through.
This Pinot opens with aromas of dried cherries, cola, and turned earth in the glass. Followed by rich flavors of dark cherry, boysenberry pie, and bramble. It has a nice rich mouthfeel, followed by soft and supple tannins and a lengthy finish.
It is a very food versatile wine that goes everything from weeknight BBQ Chicken, Burgers, Roast Pork to Cedar Planked Salmon
