Finca Nueva was founded in 2004 by superstar winemaker, Miguel Angel de Gregorio. The winery was a former palace constructed in 1675 in the Rioja Alta, Miguel's homeland. He feels he is not just making wine, but keeping the incredible history of the palace alive.

The Rioja is divided into three separate areas, which are delineated by their altitude. The Baja is the lowest, Alavesa in the middle and Alta at the top. The Alta is where our selection hails and it is considered to be the finest area in Rioja, but also the most difficult. The yields are low due to the rocky surface, but the grapes that survive are exceptional.

Finca Nueva Rosado is way above the norm for most roses. Being from the Alta separates it automatically. But, it is also derived by the two main grapes of the Rioja; Tempranillo and Garnacha. Due to the cooler temperatures, the grapes are not picked until October. This allowed them to mature naturally on the vine. The wine is also briefly stored in French oak barrels to add complexity.

The result is an amazingly powerful wine with obvious flavors of peach and apricot mixed with strawberry and watermelon. The finish seems to last minutes instead of seconds.
