The legendary Maison Moillard was founded in 1850. It is historically based in Nuits-Saint-Georges, in the Cote de Nuits, and offers wines from domaines in Cote de Nuits and Cote de Beaune, and also this rose from Beaujolais.
The winemakers at Moillard source grapes from vineyards in Liergues and Saint-Jean-d'Ardieres. These vineyards are known for their granitic soil with veins of shale and clay. After harvest, the must is obtained by direct pressing in order to capture freshness. All manipulations are carried out away from oxygen to protect this delicate product. Fermentation takes place in thermoregulated stainless steel vats at low temperatures. The wine is then aged on total lees with regular stirring in order to develop the full aromatic potential of the wine.
This unique wine is a pale pink color with purple tints in the glass. The nose evokes intense red fruits, lemon, and notes of menthol. On the palate it is round, refreshing, and ample. Enjoy as an aperitif with pork terrine and fresh baguettes or salmon rillettes. This ros? will also pair well with a crisp spinach and feta salad or a classic Nicoise salad. For a heartier meal, pair with grilled salmon or medium-rare lamb with fresh herbs.
