Tuscan Kiss is a tribute to Lia Iacocca-Assad's father, Lee Iacocca, who became famous for developing the Ford Mustang. Not only is Tuscan Kiss dedicated to the memory of Iacocca-Assad's father, but it is also a tribute to her family's spirit and memories at their Tuscan estate Villa Nicola, where the family has been making Brunello and Rosso di Montalcino since 1986. The brand is a nod to their Italian heritage and memories of summers spent together in Tuscany. Philanthropist Iacocca-Assad has earmarked five percent of all profits to go to Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health.
Tuscan Kiss is made by Col D'Orcia in Montalcino. This Tuscan rose is a blend of Sangiovese, Syrah and Vermentino from the Montalcino and Maremma regions. In this blend, the Sangiovese brings acidity and red fruits, the Syrah color and roundness, and the Vermentino floral notes and acidity.
The wine is a brilliant coral pink rose. The nose is fruity and lively, with intense notes of white flowers and red berries. On the palate it is harmonious and fresh, with hints of tangerine. These notes show on a structured palate with a balanced mineral core. The vibrant acidity, aromatics, and savory tannins linger on the palate. This rose is an ideal pairing for appetizers, such as Gougeres, or a charcuterie plate. Pair with light fish and shellfish dishes, a simple pasta with sardines and lemon, as well as vegetarian fare, such as a crisp fennel and peach salad.
