Domaine de Cibadies comes from the great house of Bonfils. They control over 4,000 acres of vines spread out over many of the best appellations in the country, including Bordeaux and South West France.

The company was formed over 150 years ago and is still run by the family, with Jean-Michel Bonfils and his three sons at the helm. Domaine de Cibadies, acquired in 1978. sits on 230 acres of pristine land in the heart of the Languedoc. While most of the domaines here use Grenache and Mourvedre in their Ros? wines, Bonfils features 100% Pinot Noir, which is much more expensive to grow and make, though far superior.

While not strictly organic, the operation is a technological masterpiece. They carefully monitor the soil, water and ecosystem of each vineyard, making minute changes in their grape-growing and winemaking regimen to get the most out of their land. That kind of attention to detail is the reason why they have become the powerhouse producer they are today.

Up until 30 years or so ago, the Languedoc was considered a mediocre appellation. The wines were okay, but nothing great. Thanks to the effort of people like the Bonfils, it is now one of the pre-eminent areas in France for procuring great wines at great prices.

Our selection is no exception. Here is the delicacy and pertinence of Pinot Noir at its best. With a light, white peach nose turning into a lovely plum flavor. This Rose soars.
