Space Age Rose actually does come from Earth, apparently very good earth. It is produced by Josh Phelps of the Grounded Wine Company. Not sure how grounded you are in the Space Age, but the wine sure is luscious.

Josh grew up in Napa, as his father worked in the wine business. At first, Josh worked harvests, then began dabbling in buying grapes and making wine for friends. Finally, he started making his own wine in San Luis Obispo. Josh likes to think of himself, humbly, as a sort of everyman wine man - his philosophy being simply to get good grapes and make the best wine you can from them. All of which sounds much simpler than it is.

For this gem, Josh went next door to Paso Robles and sourced some succulent Grenache grown on the warmer slopes of the appellation. It seems to be no longer a secret that Paso Robles is pretty much the best place in California for Grenache, and Josh knew these grapes would have the rich flavors and textures he was looking for to create a great Rose.

Some of the best Rose wines in the world come from Provence, France, and the basis for almost all of them is Grenache. So, taking a note from master French winemakers, Josh started on his own journey.

Grenache loves a warm climate, where it can ripen to perfection. Nurtured in the California sun, our selection releases lovely peach, strawberry and watermelon flavors that seem to stay on the palate in an endless swirl. All this is held beautifully in check with a piquant acidity, making for a luscious finish.
