Saleya is owned by the Kobrand Corporation, one of the most respected owners and importers of fine wines in the world. It was founded by Rudolph C. Kopf, the former head of the wine and spirits department at Macy's in New York. He adhered and took with him the same tenets he formed at Macy's. Those were the quality of the products, the quality of the people and the quality of the relationships. The thing that has changed is that they keep getting better.

It was that philosophy that earned him worldwide distribution rights to such luminary names in the wine trade like Taittinger, and Louis Jadot, which they purchased in 1985. Their portfolio reads like a veritable who's who of the most revered wines in the world. Their name as the importer doesn't say the wine is great. It guarantees it. So, it was with absolutely zero trepidation that we were excited to sample this incredible ros? from Provence. Add to that the fact that Provence is the Ros? wine capital of the world and as close to an absolute as is possible. The blend here is the classic combination of 70% Grenache, 25% Syrah and 5% Cinsault.

The Grenache is the obvious star with luminous cherry and cranberry flavors atop a blend of spice and strawberry. Those notes turn into a symphony as the Syrah's backbone finishes the job with a lasting impression of wild blueberry and citrus. Here is the perfect foil for a shrimp cocktail or a seared ahi salad sporting a wasabi, soy sauce, and roasted sesame oil dressing.
