Flower Garden is a fine co-op in the Rheinhessen region of Germany. It is the largest grape growing area in the country with over 70,000 acres of vineyards. It has the warmest climate in Germany and thus is one of the prime areas for growing their finest grape, Riesling. There is no place on Earth where Riesling excels as it does in Germany. The soil and climate are so perfectly aligned here that from the right areas, the wines will outlast most dignified reds. Bottles over 100 years old have been reported to still be in excellent condition.
The warmness of the area combined with the relatively low rainfall and almost no hail to worry about, means that this area produces the most consistent wines in the country. This is important for Germany as it is in the highest latitude suitable for making table wine on Earth. Only Champagne is higher, but they can only make sparkling wines because the region doesn't get warm enough for table wine.
Our selection is a classic German Riesling. You are immediately struck by the floral bouquet followed by a fruit basket of peach, apricot nectar and citrus. The flavors seem to magnify as they meander through the palate, depositing flecks of flavor to thrill the senses. From peach, to pineapple, and white plum, it pleases at every turn. It is not to be missed in almost any setting. With dessert, as dessert or providing a thrilling accompaniment to spicy Thai or Asian dishes, our Flower Garden is a garden of pure pleasure.
