There are some names of wine families that elicit nods of approval. Then there are a few whose names literally bounce off the page with flashing lights and sirens blaring. One of those names is Marchesi Incisa Della Rocchetta, producers of our Felice Moscato selection from Asti, Piedmont.

It is truly unfathomable that the Incisa family has been making wine in Piedmont for over 1,000 years. There aren't a lot of names with that kind of history. But, that's not all they're famous for. The family's vineyards were organic before the word was even invented.

Also, they have shown an uncanny sense for innovation progression. In the 1850s, Leopold Incisa was the first to plant Pinot Noir from vines he secured from Burgundy. One hundred years later, another Incisa, Marchese Mario Incisa della Rocchetta, headed south to Tuscany, but instead of landing in the famous Chianti region, he went to a seaside town called Bolgheri. Instead of planting the main Tuscan varietal, Sangiovese, he planted Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc and created one of the most iconic wines in the world, Sassicaia.

So, what would be your expectations of a wine from them? Pretty high, right? Ours too, and suffice it to say, there won't be any disappointment. Here is the classic light and lovely essence of Moscato featuring lychee, mango and melon flavors and a snappy, effervescent finish. With cookies, fresh fruit or all by itself, Felice is a pure delight.
