Our Le Stelle selection is made from the oldest grape known to man, Moscato. It is said that Moscato is the first grape made into wine 8,000 years ago and that all other grapes since have Moscato in their parentage. This is a difficult concept to accept because, after all, how could Cabernet Sauvignon be related to Moscato when they couldn't be more different? We'll have to take you on a little journey to explain.

Grape vines are a fruit which needs to be pollinated in order to produce grapes. The important thing here is that pollination brings two different parents to the equation, just like humans. We are the product of both parents, not just one. As this continues, you can begin to see how the same grapes moving to different continents and being pollinated by different grapes can produce drastically different combination.

It's important to understand that this transformation takes place over thousands of years. Once that concept is firmly planted, you can begin to see how Moscato could be related to Cabernet Sauvignon. Too bad ancestry services don't go back that far.

Suffice to say that Moscato, in its current form, has been thrilling wine lovers longer than any other. It's the blend of white flowers, spice, and citrus that makes it a favorite with all comers. It can also be paired with spicy Latin or Asian dishes quite well. Our favorite is having this lovely elixir with coconut macaroons. It's okay to dip them in the wine too.
